Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS)

The Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS), managed by AGWA, provides a scientifically based system that enables windows to be rated and labelled for their annual energy impact on a whole house, in any Australian climatic region.

WERS is independent of any one manufacturer and acts as a fair, rigorous and credible system for testing performance claims. WERS-rated windows must meet all relevant Australian standards, forming part of the quality assurance that manufacturers offer customers by certifying performance. To participate in the Scheme, window makers must obtain energy ratings for their products from a rating organisation accredited by the Australian Fenestration Rating Council (AFRC).

WERS ratings are designed to 'plug in' to NatHERS, Australia's Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme energy rating data. For more details on how on-AWGA members can add products to the WERS database, contact the AGWA office on [email protected]
