New South Wales COVID Update, 23 July 2021

This Delta Strain sure is a persistent beast. The situation in New South Wales is not improving and further restrictions have been announced today for the Cumberland and Blacktown Local Government Areas (LGAs).

In addition to Liverpool, Canterbury-Bankstown and Fairfield, the Cumberland Shire and Blacktown LGAs are now also under total lockdown meaning that residents are not permitted to leave their home unless they have been listed as an essential worker.

Cumberland LGA

If you are a manufacturing business in Cumberland LGA you are able to continue to operate as manufacturing is not listed on the businesses that must close list. Employees that are permitted on site include:

  • Employees that live in the Cumberland LGA.
  • Workers from outside the five locked down LGAs may travel into Cumberland LGA to work.
  • Workers from the Canterbury-Bankstown LGA, Fairfield LGA, Liverpool LGA and Blacktown LGA can NOT leave their respective LGAs for work as Glass and Window manufacturing is not an essential service and so they must stay at home.

Blacktown LGA

If you are a manufacturing business in Blacktown LGA you are able to continue to operate as manufacturing is not listed on the businesses that must close list. Employees that are permitted on site include:

  • Employees that live in the Blacktown LGA.
  • Workers from outside the five locked down LGAs may travel into Blacktown LGA to work.
  • Workers from the Liverpool LGA, Fairfield LGA, Canterbury Bankstown LGA and Cumberland LGA can NOT leave their respective LGAs for work as Glass and Window manufacturing is not an essential service and so they must stay at home.

Greater Sydney

If you are a manufacturing business in Greater Sydney (any LGA other than the ones listed above) you are able to continue to operate as manufacturing is not listed on the businesses that must close list.

  • Workers from the Canterbury-Bankstown LGA, Fairfield LGA, Liverpool LGA, Cumberland LGA and Blacktown LGA can NOT leave their respective LGAs for work as Glass and Window manufacturing is not an essential service and so they must stay at home.
